The territory of Nessebar encompasses parts of the Stara Planina and the Bourgas Black Sea coastline. The Balkan sector comprises parts of Eminska mountain between the valleys of the rivers Dvoynitsa and Kosharevska. The abrasive bank type predominates. From the river Kamchiya to the Emine promontory the coast is mostly facing east. It is sparsely segmented - coefficient of indentation 1.06. The coast between the river Kozluka and the Emine promontory is steep and cut by short ravines. In this part of Eminska mountain the terrain is terrain is erosive and denudating, with leveled, flat, denudationally shaped ridges with greatly indented slopes by a multitude of valleys and ravines.

BC. by the ancient Thracians and was called Larissa. Here, among many monasteries, chapels and smaller monasteries, which in the Middle Ages turned Emonska mountain into Mount Athos, was the Saint Vlas monastery, which gave the village its name in 14 c.

Obzor – fresh mountain air, warm sea breeze, virgin nature and picturesque beach line. The little town is famous for its millennial history, evidenced by numerous architectural and ceramic fragments, and remains of fortress walls. The settlement was founded by the Thracians, but in 6-7 c. BC it was converted into a Greek colony. The name of the town – Heliopolis, meaning the town of the Sun, dates back from this period. The town lived and prospered until the Roman conquest. One of their guidebooks mentions a fortress defended by strong walls, playing a major role on the road to Byzantium. The name of the settlement then was “Temple of Jupiter”. In the centre of the fortress, close to the modern square, a beautiful temple was constructed. There were public thermae, and the available mineral springs were impounded and lead off in pipes. In 1925 Obzor was appreciated as a sea resort. Now the town is popular as one of the most attractive recesses in the country. It will charm you with its calmness and tranquillity, clean beaches and azure sea. The accommodation facilities are concentrated in comfortable private accommodations and boarding lodgings. Small restaurants and taverns provide complete rest.
