The territory of the Karnobat municipality falls within the transitional climate zone with continental influence. The climate formation is determined by the oceanic air masses which push in from the west and northwest and the continental air masses that push in from northeast .
The terrain characteristics as well as the nearness of Black sea are among the additional factors that influence the climatic components.
The natural resources in the region predetermine the development of plant and vegetable-growing and the production of corn and fodder crops.
The soil and climatic characteristics are among the determining factors for its successful development. Vine-growing is the economic field that has the strongest traditions in the municipality and is mainly developed on individual farms in independent ownerships especially designed for the purpose.
The development and cultivation of perennial plants such as vineyards, peach trees, apricot trees, cherry-trees, apple-trees, almond-trees, strawberries and raspberries are the basic means of living for the population in the town of Karnobat.
