How do I register a company?

The whole procedure takes about 14 working days. The necessary capital which is needed according to the Bulgarian law is 5000 bg leva or at least 70% (3500 bg leva), which after the registration is transformed into a company current account and can be on your disposal at any time. There are registration fees including solicitor fees and Governmental fees. Some real estate agencies offer lower price but note that the lower price often has hidden defects and catches in the registration regime, which on the other hand leads to penalties and fines for the company owners which means more and more expenses.

Do I need Visa?

All visitors to Bulgaria require full (not visitors') passport, although citizens of most Western countries no longer need a visa to enter the country. However, as the rules change every year, it's wise to check with a Bulgarian Embassy or Consulate whatever your nationality. All visitors are required to register as a foreigner within 48 hours of arrival. If you are staying in a hotel, campsite, hostel or private room, rented through an agency, then the job of registration should be done for you by your hosts.
